Do You Want to Become Upward Bound?

Upward Bound seeks students that are committed to their education and are highly motivated in their pursuit of attaining a college education and achieving their career and professional goals. The Academic Year and Summer Programs are rigorous and designed to motivate and prepare students for post-secondary education.

How to Join

You can either

2. Print and complete a hard copy of our application, then drop it off in person at our office or scan it and send via email to Ms. Teresa DePace at depace7@upenn.edu

Qualifications

Qualifications to join the program include:

  • Applicants must attend one of Upward Bound’s participating high schools:
  • Overbrook | Parkway – West | Sayre | West Philadelphia
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent resident
  • Preferably in 9th or 10th grade when they apply
  • Low – income and/or first-generation-to-college
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Demonstrated motivation to pursue a college degree after high school

Application Process

  1. Complete the Application
  2. Student & Guardian Interview
  3. Submit required documents, e.g. Proof of Income
  4. Review & Acceptance
